►Protect the Goulais Watershed, Prevent Spills

The Sault North Waste Management Council reminds you to prevent spills and be prepared for emergencies. Follow these tips for spill preparedness:

  • Keep all chemical products in their original packaging with labels.
  • Fuel storage tanks should be inspected annually for signs of leaks or damage.
  • Above-ground tanks are safer than underground; replace any tank that is more than 30 years old.
  • Never dispose of chemicals or contaminated materials down a drain or in a landfill
  • Call the Ministry of the Environment Spills Action Centre to report spills: 1-800-268-6060
